Party Ideas: Birthday Floral Tea Party
On a warm sunny Sunday afternoon. We held a birthday party for my daughter, who turned 8, at a nearby park. The theme was “Floral Tea Party”.
Flowers and tea party are eternal themes that girls love. Based on my experience, I would like to share with you four ideas for party foods and activities that can be enjoyed by adults as well as children to add color to the birthday party.
1. Invitation
Invitations are sent to guests several weeks before the party. Online invitations are very useful when you have a large number of guests. It is very efficient in keeping track of participation and non-attendance, and it is nice to be able to set reminders and other details.
2. Activities
The main activity is flower crown making. This is our favorite craft for all ages. All you need is flowers and raffia. If you have plenty of flowers, they can serve as decorations for a gorgeous party. You can find instructions on how to make a flower crown in this blog post. This time, I also prepared small raffia for bracelets so that little siblings and adults can enjoy as well, which was also well received.
3. Party Foods
You want to eat a little bit of a variety of foods, just like at a tea party. Bite-sized sweets are the perfect way to fulfill this wish. If you can make everything homemade, that would be wonderful. But in reality, there may not be time to prepare everything. In such cases, you can add a little something extra to a readymade items to make it look more gorgeous. Just a little whip, a little fruit, and a few other touches can create a lovely world view.
Decorate each mini muffin with whipped cream and fruit(strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc.). 2. Purple Sweet Potato Mont Blanc Squeeze whipped cream into tart cups. Decorate with purple sweet potato paste (steam purple sweet potatoes and strain to make a paste. Add butter, sugar, and cream, and mix). 3. Sugar Cone Coat the inside of the sugar cone with melted chocolate. When the chocolate has hardened, decorate whipped cream, fruit and chocolate stick.
4. Party Favor
I thought of things that our guests would enjoy along with the theme. My daughter chose a mirror, lip gloss, and a ring, a selection very typical of an 8-year-old girl. All of the items are inexpensive and can be purchased on Amazon US, but I packaged them individually and decorated the bags with original tags to unify the world view.
In all honesty preparation is hard work, but when I see the faces of the children enjoying themselves, I am so glad I did it!
When I think about how short the parenting years are, I realize that we may only have a few more years left to celebrate birthdays together at the park like this.

暖かな日差しが降り注ぐ日曜日の午後。8歳になった娘の誕生日会を近くの公園で開催しました。テーマは”フローラルティーパーティ”。
花もティーパーティも女の子の好きな永遠のテーマです。今回の私の経験をもとに、誕生日会を彩るパーティフードやアクティビティなど、子どもだけではなく大人も楽しめるアイデアを４つご紹介します。
1. Invitation
開催の数週間前にはゲストに招待状を送ります。ゲストの人数が多い時にオンラインのインビテーションはとても便利です。参加・不参加を把握するのにとても効率的で、リマインドの設定など細かく対応できるのもいいですね。
2. Activities
メインのアクティビティはフラワークラウンメイキング。年齢を問わずに楽しめる私たちのお気に入りのクラフトです。必要なものは花とラフィア。たくさんの花を用意すれば、華やかなパーティの装飾としても役立ちます。フラワークラウンの作り方はこちらのブログ記事にあります。小さな妹弟や大人も楽しめるように、ブレスレット用の小さなラフィアを用意したのも好評でした。
3. Party Foods
ティーパーティらしく、いろいろな種類をちょっとづつ食べたい！そんな希望を叶えるなら一口サイズのスイーツがぴったりです。全部手作りで作れるならそれは素晴らしいこと。しかし現実には全ての準備に手が回らないことも。そんなときには、市販品に少し手を加えることで、華やかに見える工夫をします。ホイップひとつ、フルーツひとつ、ほんの少し手を加えるだけで可愛らしい世界観を演出できます。
4. Party Favor
テーマに沿ってゲストが喜びそうなものを考えました。今回娘が選んだのは、ミラー、リップグロス、指輪。8歳の女の子らしいセレクトでした。どれもAmazonで買える安価なものですが、個別にパッケージングしたり、袋にオリジナルタグの飾り付けをして世界観を統一しました。
正直なところ準備は大変ですが、楽しんでいる子どもたちの顔をみるとやって良かった！と心から思います。
子育て期の短さを思うと、こうして誕生日を公園で一緒に祝えるのもあと少しなのかもしれません。娘の成長を一緒に祝ってくれた友人たちに心から感謝します。
さて……、来年はどうしよう！？
