Upcycled Matchbook Notepads
This is an organic, perfectly upcycled item. Extra scraps of paper from crafts, packaging, and other sample production. I have been accumulating scraps of paper that I have been saving and always wondered what to do with them. I could have used them as notepaper, but I liked the squeegee art paper we enjoyed the other day so much that I decided to make a small notepad using it as a cover.
It could be anything from the back of a piece of copy paper, wrapping paper, or the back of a piece of miswritten paper. Just put together scraps of leftover paper. Use it as a little notepad, for the kids to draw on while you’re out and about, or as a small gift. I was very pleased with the results of this craft and here are the instructions.
Materials
– About 10 pieces scraps of paper
– Thick paper for as the cover
– Stapler
– Cutter or scissors
– Perforation cutter *Optional
Instructions for making
Step 1. Collect Scraps of Paper
Recycled paper such as backing paper and scraps are collected and put together. The size can be completely original. It can be the size of the paper you gathered at the time, or whatever size you need.
I had a lot of 6 cm wide scraps this time, so I decided to make a notebook about 6x10cm in size.
Step 2. Make a Perforated Line
This is a perfect option. I perforated each sheet of paper so that I could cut out the finished notebook. This extra step makes it more fun.
Step 3. Make the Cover
Prepare enough paper to cover the bundle of recycled paper. Cut the width of the paper 5 mm larger than the bundle of recycled paper. Fold the staple part about 15 mm, insert the bundle to be used as memo paper, and staple it. Fold the top to cover the bundle, adjusting it so that it catches on the stapled flap, and cut the excess paper.

A notepad prepared in the same size will have different paintings one by one, depending on how the cover is cut.
Or, go even rougher. The various scraps of recycled paper that were gathered little by little, were more roughly put together without any formality to create a more organic notepad.

When tied with string along with a pen, it becomes a small sweet gift.

オーガニックで完璧なアップサイクル品。クラフトやパッケージなどのサンプル制作で出た余分な紙の切れ端はありませんか？ 取って置いた切れ端は溜まる一方で、なにに使おうかと常々思っていました。そのままメモ用紙などに使ってもいいのですが、先日楽しんだスキージアートの紙があまりに気に入ったので、それを表紙に使って小さなノートブックをつくることにしました。
コピー用紙の裏紙や、包装紙、フラーヤーの裏などなんでもいいのです。余った紙の切れ端をまとめるだけ。ちょっとしたメモ帳に、出かけ先での子どものお絵かきに、または小さなギフトとして。私はこのクラフトの結果に非常に満足したのでその手順をここにご紹介します。
用意するもの
– 紙の切れ端 10枚ほど
– 表紙となる厚紙
– ホチキス
– カッター もしくはハサミ
– ミシン目カッター *オプション
つくりかた
Step 1. 紙を集める
裏紙や切れ端などの再生紙を集めてまとめます。大きさは完全にオリジナルで設定可能です。その時に集まった紙の大きさ、もしくはあなたが必要とする大きさで構いません。
私は今回6cm幅の切れ端をたくさん持っていたので、約6x10cmの大きさのノートをつくることにしました。
Step 2. ミシン目を入れる
これは完全なオプションです。私は再生紙の束に一枚ずつミシン目を入れました。出来上がったノートを一枚ずつ切り取れるようにするためです。このひと手間をくわえることで、より楽しくなるでしょう。
Step 3. 表紙をつくる
再生紙の束をぐるりとカバーできるくらいの紙を用意します。横幅を再生紙より+5mmほど大きく切ります。ホチキスを止める部分を15mmほど折り、メモ用紙となる再生紙を挟んでホチキスで留めます。束をカバーするように上部を折り曲げて、ホチキスで留めたフラップに引っかかるように調整し、余分な紙を切ります。

同じ大きさで整えたメモ帳は、表紙の切り取り方でペイントがひとつづつ異なります。
またはもっとラフに。少しずつ集まったさまざまな再生紙の切れ端を、形を揃えることなくそのままラフにまとめたらよりオーガニックなノートとして生まれ変わりました。
ギフトとしても最適です
ボールペンを添えて紐で縛ったら、小さなギフトとなりました。
