Children love the gems so much! And similar to children, stones have a mysterious power to attract people. Many are fascinated by a beautiful shining stone, and I personally love to pick up pebbles at the beach or by the riverbank. No two natural stones are the same, and they are truly one-of-a-kind. These same qualities of gems are also true for children.
For this year’s Valentine’s Day card, I found an affordable heart-shaped gem, to make this card.
You’re a Gem! Every child is a shining gem in the rough!

Instructions for making

Step 1. Cut the Cardboad

Cut the cardboard into appropriate sizes. I cut the Letter Surfers cardboard into 6 equal pieces.
Optional: I rounded the corners with a corner cutter.

Step 2. Write a Message

Write your message. You can handwrite it or use a home printer or stamp.

Step 3. Put the Gem

Put the gem on the card and you’re done. My daughter loves the process of choosing which gem is perfect for whom and thinking about what fits each classmate.
